Hazelwood Rehabilitation Project

After 52 years of operation the Hazelwood power generation business was officially closed on 31 March, 2017.

Powering the state of Victoria and the community for over half a century, we are now embarking on the final stage of its long life.

Now referred to as the Hazelwood Rehabilitation Project, the focus of activities on site is on the safe, stable and sustainable decommissioning and rehabilitation of the power station block and mine.

From the day after Hazelwood closed, this journey began in earnest; and it’s a journey in which we want our community to play a part.
