NEW WATER TANKER FOR KOORNALLA COMMUNITY

A new water tanker will make the task of tree watering much easier for a dedicated group of volunteers committed to rehabilitating their town which was devastated by the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires.

Members of the Koornalla and Le Roy Community Association, which was recently formed by the majority of the small town’s residents, have received the tanker as part of a $20,000 award from International Power Australia’s (IPRA) Bushfire Recovery Fund.

International Power/Mitsui Loy Yang B Manager Community/Employee Relations, Mr Paul Burns, said company was proud to support a community which had suffered so much hardship during the bushfires and one that had done a tremendous job with reafforestation activities in the bushfire-affected areas of the town.

“We are very pleased that our donation will make it easier for the community to carry on with the fantastic work they are doing to revegetate the Koornalla and Le Roy area,” he said.
