Still getting an unexpected high bill with your home battery?

With ENGIE Battery Set & Forget you receive a fixed, predictable weekly price for 12-months, based on your average usage.

This offer is for NSW Ausgrid and SA Only
Built for certainty, simplicity, and peace of mind
Fixed weekly price

Enjoy a consistent weekly electricity price with fewer surprises. ENGIE sets the price based on your average usage, making monthly bills more predictable. This plan is best suited for households with an average annual usage of 4,000 kWh or less.

Your home's energy needs always come first

Solar energy is always used first to maintain a protected 24% battery reserve for your home's backup power. Any remaining capacity will be used to support the electricity grid as part of the ENGIE Virtual Power Plant.

Usage reminders

We know energy use can vary. If your usage starts tracking higher than expected, we’ll let you know through two friendly usage reminders. If you receive three usage reminders, we’ll help move you to a higher plan that better suits your usage needs as part of our ‘fair use buffer’ policy. Track your usage via the weekly email updates.

Simple, transparent energy

You get more predictable weekly energy costs, with us helping balance your energy usage, solar and battery power. Any unused energy allocation rolls over to the next month, helping maximise value over time.

Got another question?

Everything you need to know about how ENGIE Battery Set & Forget works.

Is this plan suitable for me?

Our team can help you work out which plan is right for you based on your individual energy usage. As a general guide, this plan is best suited to households with an average annual electricity usage of around 4,000 kWh or less.

How do you calculate the right weekly pricing plan for me?

We calculate the right plan based on your typical annual and seasonal electricity usage. Using your historic usage from uploaded bills, we determine the plan that fits your home, so your weekly cost covers your household needs while keeping bills predictable. You’ll also receive notifications if you’re approaching your plan limit, giving you full control and peace of mind.

What is ENGIE Virtual Power Plant (VPP)?

A Virtual Power Plant (VPP) is a network of connected home solar and battery systems that work together to supply energy back to the grid when needed. As part of the ENGIE Virtual Power Plant (VPP), your battery will also help support the electricity grid during periods of high demand, contributing to a more reliable energy system for everyone, while you continue to enjoy the benefits at home.

What happens if I exceed the monthly consumption allowance? (Fair use buffer policy)

Each plan includes a monthly consumption allowance, which is monitored on a monthly basis.

  • If you exceed your usage cap in a month, you’ll be notified via your weekly tracker email.
  • If you exceed the usage cap in three subsequent months, we’ll contact you to let you know your options.

This may include:

  • Moving to a plan with a higher usage cap, or
  • Switching to our Standing Offer

If you exceed the monthly consumption allowance three times within a 12-month period, ENGIE may end your agreement in line with the Special Conditions. Exceeding the monthly consumption allowance is subject to the ‘fair use buffer’ policy which is outlined in your Welcome Pack.

Am I eligible for ENGIE Battery Set & Forget?

ENGIE Battery Set & Forget is available to 500 customers across NSW and SA. In SA, the plan is available to eligible homeowners. In NSW, the plan is only available to customers connected to the Ausgrid network.

To be eligible, you’ll typically need:

  • A connected solar and battery system
  • A compatible battery (e.g. Tesla, Sungrow, Sigenergy, Empower or AlphaESS)
  • A fully functioning solar PV system (with a minimum 6kW and maximum 10kW inverter size) installed and Battery with minimum capacity of 10kWh

This plan is designed for homeowners who want predictable weekly electricity costs and peace of mind with their energy usage.

Once you submit your details using our form, our team will review your setup and confirm your eligibility. If you’re not sure whether you qualify, our team can also help answer any questions.

Not sure if your NSW property is supplied by Ausgrid? You can check if Ausgrid supplies electricity to your postcode here.

If you don’t yet have a battery, you can find out more information about how to get started in our Smart Energy Hub.

Can I add gas to my plan?

Yes, you can choose to add a gas plan alongside your electricity plan. Adding gas is completely optional, so you can decide what works best for your household. Gas is billed separately from your electricity plan, giving you flexibility and clarity over your costs. If you choose to include gas, we’ll help you set it up at the same time as your electricity plan so you can manage all your energy from one place.

Is there a contract or lock-in period?

No, ENGIE Battery Set & Forget has no lock-in contract, meaning you can adjust, upgrade, or cancel anytime without penalty.

Why is pricing different between SA and NSW?

Pricing can vary across states because electricity costs vary by state and energy distributors set different network tariffs based on the region. These costs are included in your overall energy price, which is why offers may differ between South Australia and New South Wales.

How does the carry forward usage allowance work?

ENGIE Battery Set & Forget includes a personal monthly usage allowance based on your location and plan type. The carry forward allowance works like this:

  • If you use less than your allowance, the unused amount rolls over to the next month. We’ll let you know via your weekly Tracker email how you’re doing and remind you if you’re approaching your monthly allowance.
  • If you go over your usage allowance, we’ll let you know via Tracker email that you’ve exceeded it, and your next month will reset to your standard allowance (no excess usage is carried over)

You can receive up to two usage reminders in a 12-month period without impact. If you receive three, you will be contacted to move to a plan more suited to your energy usage, otherwise you will be moved to the ENGIE Standing Offer. At the end of each 12-month period, any unused allowance is cleared and your usage reminder count resets.

Can I upgrade my plan if I go over my usage cap?

Yes, you can upgrade your plan at any time by calling our sales team on 1800 290 773 and selecting Option 1 for Sales.
