ENGIE’s newly commissioned Willogoleche Wind Farm and the opening of a nearby community hub have prompted a double celebration at Hallett on October 27.
Fifteen clean energy sites from five states are being opened to the public on October 27 as part of Clean Energy Open Day, a national event being run by the Clean Energy Council to promote understanding of, and participation in, Australia’s transition to a renewable energy future.
To coincide with the open day, ENGIE, the Hallett Community Hub Committee and the Regional Council of Goyder will officially open the Hallett Community Hub. The community can enjoy a complimentary BBQ, refreshments and ice creams, and try the facilities, including brand new tennis courts and lawn bowls.
Bus tours of the Willogoleche Wind Farm will run throughout the day.
“We are delighted to participate in Clean Energy Day and welcome the local community to our new wind farm. ENGIE is proud to be leading the transition to a zero-carbon world and our new Willogoleche Wind Farm is just one example of how we are delivering green energy right now,” Ryan Auger, Head of Corporate Affairs, ENGIE ANZ said.
Consisting of 32 turbines, Willogoleche is the fourth largest wind farm in South Australia and one of the most modern and efficient in the country. It can generate 119MW of energy, delivering renewable energy to 80,000 South Australian homes.
