Searching great energy plans for you
You could receive a bill credit up to $110 this summer!
During summer, the Australian energy grid can experience overwhelming demand which can lead to network reliability and energy supply constraints. To avoid these issues, we’re rewarding customers that reduce their electricity and meet our reduction targets during these peak demand events. We’ll SMS invited eligible ENGIE customers 2-hours prior to an event so you can prepare to reduce your electricity consumption. There will be multiple events this summer, so more chances to earn!
How Does The Reduce & Reward Program Work?
Step 1
Eligible invited ENGIE customers will receive an SMS 2-hours prior to a peak demand event so you can prepare to reduce your electricity consumption. You must reply ‘YES’ to the notification within an hour of receiving it to participate in the event.
Step 2
We’ll also send you an SMS once the peak demand event has started, so you can start to reduce your electricity consumption.
Step 3
Soon after the event, we’ll send you an email letting you know your consumption, and whether you’ve successfully earned a bill credit.
If you miss an event that’s okay, we will run several throughout the summer.
Step 4
Collectively reducing demand on the electricity grid may help prevent power outages.
What is a Peak Demand Event?
Extreme weather conditions cause Victorians to use much more electricity, putting pressure on the electricity grid. This creates what’s known as a peak demand event.
As part of the Reduce & Reward program, when there is a peak demand event, we’ll let you know, giving you the opportunity to reduce your electricity usage.
Peak demand events usually last up to four hours.
How much can I earn per event?
- Gold Super Saver Top 2% of savers - $100 bill credit
Silver Saver 30% or more below your baseline - $10 bill credit
All credits are inclusive of GST. If you are eligible for a credit, it will be applied on your next electricity bill. If your bill falls on the week of an event, it will be applied on your next bill.
Think you can be a Gold Super Saver?
Gold Super Savers can receive a bonus $100 bill credit for being in the top 2% of savers each event. The more electricity you reduce during an event, the more you could earn! keep an eye on your Tracker email to see if you are a Gold Super Saver.
How is my baseline calculated?
Non-Solar: Your baseline is calculated by taking your average usage over your previous 10 days at the same time as the event.
Solar: Your baseline is calculated by taking you average usage across the 5 biggest days of the last 10 days at the same time as the event. Your baseline could potentially be negative if you are exporting more than you are importing during this historical 10 day window.
