Our Generation Activities

ENGIE is a global leader and an independent power producer devoted to the renewable energy transition.

In Australia, ENGIE is developing its future energy portfolio. With a mix of renewable and non-renewable energy, we aim to generate more than 2,000 megawatts (MW) of wind, solar, gas and hydrogen power plus industrial-scale batteries to support Australia's transition to a cleaner, more reliable energy grid.

Our purpose

Our mission is to drive the shift to a carbon-neutral economy by promoting energy efficiency and environmentally friendly solutions. Our mission unifies the company, its employees, clients, and shareholders and ensures we reconcile economic success with a positive impact on society and the environment. We are committed to continuously improving, learning and growing and regularly evaluate our strategies and actions to ensure we make a positive difference.

Our Generation Projects

Wind Farms

Wind power is crucial in moving towards a green energy economy, as it is an unlimited and predictable power source. Plus, integrating wind power can minimise the impact of poor weather on solar panel efficiency, creating a more reliable and robust hybrid renewable energy grid.

Solar Farms

Solar farms are essential to successfully transitioning to a sustainable, low-carbon energy ecosystem. By diversifying our energy sources and reducing our dependence on fossil fuels, solar power can minimise greenhouse gas emissions and energy costs.

Battery Storage

Battery storage provides flexibility and reliability to the electricity grid by storing excess electricity to be used during peak demand periods or when generation is low. ENGIE manages several large-scale projects, including the Hazelwood Battery Energy Storage System.

Gas fired power

The path to net zero is a challenging and complex, but there is simply no orderly energy transition without gas. Efficient and reliable closed cycle plant like our Pelican Point Power Station helps to balance the intermittency of renewables while playing a vital role in their growth.

Hydrogen presents a considerable opportunity for Australia to accelerate the transition to renewable energy. Hydrogen has the potential to provide secure, reliable and affordable power to households and businesses across the nation and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels.
